The Dog Slime is a carnivorous slime found in the Overgrown Orchard, and is available as part of the Edge of the Range DLC.

A wonderful companion and powerful guard, the dog slime is valued by ranchers for its playful demeanor and fierce loyalty towards its owner. Dog slimes that have been treated well will be heavily attached to their ranchers, giving them loving cuddles and slobbery licks, always keeping them safe from danger. If trained properly, it will also faithfully guard the ranch, immediately ferreting out and taking down any intruders or tarr in sight.
Plortonomics[]
As it turns out, the plorts of dog slimes are actually quite a delicacy to their Earth counterparts! Dog plorts are quite popular as flavouring in the dog food industry, and can be found among the ingredients of many treats. It's also considered quite delicious to some rather odd people, who will go as far as to find jobs at dog food factories just to sneak some plorts for a snack, but we don't talk about them. Ever.
Rancher Risks[]
Of course, like every other slime, dog slimes come with risks. Such as the fact that wild dog slimes are prone to violently attacking ranchers and feline slimes, or that they also have a habit of digging out of their corrals, or that they only seem to do a single thing you tell them to do half of the time.
On second thought, maybe dog slimes are better suited for experienced ranchers instead.
Appearance[]
Dog slimes are brown in colour and have large floppy ears, as well as a wide mouth, tongue and dog-like nose usually not seen on slimes. They have small brown tails that are usually wagging, and their sides are covered in lumps that resemble pointed fur.

- Dog slimes are descendants of their rarer, more aggressive counterpart; prowler slimes.
