Lightspeed Slimes are frugivore slimes that can rarely be found in almost all parts of the Far, Far Range at night (excluding The Wilds and Nimble Valley). Lightspeed Slimes are capable of flight, and move very fast when doing so.

Believed to be a cousin of the phosphor slime, lightspeed slimes are one of the rarest slimes that ever inhabited the Far, Far Range. Their rarity, combined with their glowing star-shaped core makes many ranchers think that they are shooting stars.

A lightspeed slime does not pose any direct risk to a rancher but their immense speed and capability of flight often makes them quite troublesome to ranch. Ranching lightspeed slimes in a basic, non-upgraded corral can be dangerous and it often leads to breaches, unintended largos, or...
And, like their cousins, lightspeed slimes (and their plorts) vanish in sunlight. However, lightspeed slimes are more resistant, giving a rancher time to hide them from sunlight before day breaks.

Lightspeed plorts have many uses but one of the most important ones is the making of an elixir that quickens any person that drank it both in movement and thinking. These plorts can also make your hair blue with glowing little stars that look really cool.
Tips[]
- Be sure to ranch lightspeed slimes in a fully upgraded corral to avoid breaches and/or Tarr outbreaks.
- To make most profit out of their plorts, mix lightspeed slimes with a slime with a big plort value and easy to produce favorite food, like Rad Slimes or Mosaic Slimes.
- This way, they will gain a favorite food, and produce double the plorts.

- The lightspeed slime is the fourth slime that is a relative to another slime, with it being related to the Phosphor Slime.
