"The coral crusted ocean floor, that DOESN'T sit under the midday sun, it sits under the thinnest area of the slime sea" The Slime reef is a large atoll-like area where the slime sea's water becomes thinner due to precipitation and high heat, causing most of the sludgy components to be expelled from the reef, turning the water an aquamarine blue.

The Slime reef is a large tropical atoll located a large distance away from Ring island, it is distinct from the isolated islands because it is mainly composed of water, with a few scattered islands that become submerged at high tide and exposed at low tide, which take about 8 ingame hours to transition from each tide level, life such as slimes, plants and animals are mostly found in the water of fly throughout the salty air, with a few oddballs being fully terrestrial.

To enter this area, you must reach it somehow, however, the slime reef will not just be a free lunch waiting for you to enjoy its goodies, some of the natives are aggressive and will attack outsiders, even ranchers and slimes, in the waters around the reef, prowling the outskirts of the reef, angry torpedo slimes and drifting man o war slimes block and attack the player ferociously, trying to prevent them from reaching the reef, even the skies aren't safe, for the prowling flocks of gannet slimes won't tolerate any intruders, and will even dive bomb intruders swimming on the surface or even underwater. If you get past this point, then the attack cease as you enter the rocky coastline, the entrance to the shallow pass, and the threats of the deeper waters recede back to the open ocean and you catch a break.
